President Obama signed the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" (PPACA) (P.L. 111-148) into law on March 23, 2010. The House and Senate approved the "Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010" (H.R. 4872) through budget reconciliation rules on March 25. The President then signed that bill into law on March 30, 2010, completing his vision of enacting a comprehensive health care reform package during his presidency. The Special Report linked to at left provides a preliminary analysis of the new law and its impact on employers.
